Walter F. Gardner

Walter F. Gardner, age 78, of Havertown, PA, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Rose (née Massino) Gardner.

Walter worked in the construction industry as a carpenter.  He was a football coach for the Drexel Hill “Raiders” for many years.  He and his wife, Carol, enjoyed trips to Clearwater, FL to watch the Phillies Spring training.  Walter was an avid Eagles fan and an enthusiastic golfer. 

Walter was the beloved husband of 58 years of Carol A. (née Morgan) Gardner; the loving father of Paul Gardner, Michael Gardner, Mark Gardner (Colleen), and John Gardner (Jill).  He was the proud grandfather of Justin, Megan, Julie and Katie.  Walter is also survived by his sisters, Elaine Gardner and Debra Flynn, as well as family friend, Lisa, and her children, Samantha and Connor.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Thursday, February 2, 2023, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, 610-353-6300, followed by his Memorial Service at  11:00 AM.  Interment private.
