Walter Pierzchala

Walter A. Pierzchala, age 88, passed away on August 9, 2015 from complications of heart surgery. Originally from Massachusetts, Walt was a 54 year resident of Broomall. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Carol, dear dad of Brian, Denise and Marc Ravitz, Drs. Todd and Luanne (DeLuca). Loving Pop Pop of Alexa, Alex, Nathan and Ava. Brother of Bernadette Hebert and Jane Grady of MA. Brother-in-law of Tom and Susan and Joe (deceased) and Joan (deceased) Denelsbeck. Uncle of Denelsbeck and Hebert nieces and nephews. Cousin of the O'Neill and Denelsbeck extended families. Fly buddy of Joe Yalove, Joe Weizer (deceased) and Charlie Swope (deceased).



Walt retired from Wyeth Labs in Radnor as a microbiologist. He was active in his community and Church. He served as campaign treasurer for former Congressman Robert Edgar; served Marple Township on the Board of Health, Zoning Board and Planning Board. He was a hard working member of Valley Forge Signal Seekers Model Airplane Club. Walter also served in the army as a dental tech in 1951 and 1952 in Korea.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, August 21, 2015 6:00 PM St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA and to his Memorial Mass at 6:30 PM. All invited to dinner following Mass at Charlotte's Restaurant down the street from the Church.



Walt donated his body to scientific research.
