Walton E. Porter, Sr. "Walt", 94, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 20, 2013 at his home in West Chester.
Born in Tyaskin, MD in 1919, he was the son of Lulu (Stewart) and Dorsey Porter, both deceased.
Walt served honorably in the Delaware and Pennsylvania National Guard, the U S Army, 93rd Armored Artillery Division during World War II and he was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 57 years.
He worked as a Dispatcher for Blue Line Transfer Company for 35 years and as an electrician at National Label for 25 years.
Walt was a Member of the Freemasons Guild and the Redwood Playhouse Senior Center.
He loved to play Pinochle, was an avid boater and also enjoyed woodworking and birds. Most of all, he loved being with his wife, his children and grandchildren.
Walt was the beloved husband for 65 years of Valeria "Vi" (nee Koval) Porter; loving father of Barbara (Wally) Gaige, Chip (Tracy) Porter, Arlene (Carl) Peters, Nancy (Rich) Boland, Stephanie (Chance) Boyce and the late Dennis Porter and his wife, Trish Porter; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
