Wes Davis of Lansdowne, 86, known as “Bick”, passed away on July 12, 2020.
Born May 25, 1934 to Sid and Cecelia (McDonell) Davis. Raised in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, Mr. Davis attended Roman Catholic High School before serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1950-53.
A lover of sports, Mr. Davis competed on various amatuer teams in Philadelphia throughout his life in basketball, football, baseball and boxing.
After serving in the Navy, Mr. Davis graduated from LaSalle University and began his career as an investigator working first with SEPTA (PTC), the Keystone Insurance Company, and then for the law firm of Richter, Lord, & Levy.
In 1977, Mr. Davis started his own private detective agency which he ran for over 40 years. In his later years, Mr. Davis became a 32nd Degree Mason and also served with the Delaware County Shriner’s Club.
Although known for his sense of humor, Mr. Davis received his greatest joy from the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by sons James and Michael Davis, daughter-in-law Gina Davis, step-son Daniel Grazione, and his grandchildren Ashley, Andrew, Kelly, Ella, and Gianna.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, July 20, 2020 10:00-11:00 AM and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (Cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA. Interment is private.
Masks are to worn when visiting the family and to the Funeral Service and social distancing is to be observed.
