William Eugene Aberts, 80, of West Chester, PA passed away on February 11, 2018.
Born in West Chester, PA in 1937, he was the son of the late Paul F. and Alice (Simcox) Aberts.
He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Jean (Gorman) Aberts; loving father of Linda Aberts Christensen, Dana Jean Hassis, Terri Lynn Aberts and William E. Aberts, Jr.; loving grandfather of Ryan Christensen, Grace Christensen and Robert "Bobby" Hassis. Predeceased by siblings, Paul F. Aberts, Jr. and Mary Sunday.
William was a graduate of West Chester Henderson High School and served honorably in the PA National Guard.
He was a school bus mechanic and supervisor for George Krapf, Jr. & Sons until his retirement.
William was an avid gardener, who enjoyed watching the wildlife in his yard, especially the deer. He was a member of the Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association and Museum and attended the Thresherman's Reunion each year. He had a passion for vintage farm equipment and John Deere tractors, and NASCAR racing.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 1:00-2:30 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA, 610-269-3080 followed by his Funeral Service 2:30 PM. Interment private.
