William Davison

January 20, 1957 — November 4, 2017

William E. Davison, Born January 20, 1957

William, known to all as Bill, the fourth son and eighth child of the late John R. & Mildred P. Davison of Wayne and Malvern, PA passed away peacefully on November 4, 2017 at Perry Point Veteran's Hospital in Maryland at the too young age of 60.

Bill was a very engaging and gregarious soul who left a lasting impression on all whomever met him and will be missed dearly by all he touched in his journeys.

He attended Radnor High School and then enlisted into the U. S. Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge from the Navy, Bill enrolled at Penn State University, State College, earning a B.S. degree in Agriculture Science. Bill then used his educational skills in a career devoted to specialized landscaping designing and photography.

An avid lover of nature, Bill loved hiking, fly fishing, pets of all sorts and being in the outdoors rather than sitting behind a desk. He was a grand story teller to the delight of his many friends and young relatives. He loved music of all sorts, but especially Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead.

Bill is survived by his ten loving siblings and many scores of nieces and nephews. His sisters are Mary Lynch (Bob), Dr. Patricia Laffey (Bill), Carol Libhart. Nancy Gardner (Rod), Kathy O'Donnell (Jeff) and Donna Doyle (Kevin, deceased). His four surviving brothers are John (Diane), Joe (Joan), Rick (Clare) and Jim (Patty) Davison. The each have special fond memories of Bill and feel a true loss in the gang that was once eleven but is now ten earthbound. Yet, one ahead of them in heaven to pave the way is a welcome blessing.

He often, when on a hike or beside a trout stream, could be heard singing this refrain from Truckin by the Grateful Dead:

Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me,

Other times I can barely see

Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip it's been

It has been a long strange trip indeed, and would not be the same if not shared without Bill aboard for the ride for the past sixty years.

His family and friends wish him eternal peace and wonderment.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Thursday, November 9, 2017 7:00-9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation be made to the John & Mildred Davison Radnor High School Scholarship Fund, P.O.Box 8244, Radnor, PA 19087 in memory of Bill. The Fund has already assisted dozens of students pursuing their goals and it would be a most fitting tribute to Bill.
