William B. Elder, 62, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Delaware and Philadelphia Counties and Rimersburg, passed away on January 29, 2017.
Born in 1954 in Brookville, PA, he was the son of Patricia (Switzer) Elder and the late William J. Elder.
He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Crotti) Elder; loving father of Jeffrey W. Elder (Colleen) and Gregory J. Elder (Alexandria); loving grandfather of Scarlett Rose Elder; dear brother of Jami Simpson (Tim) and uncle of Stephanie Zeiber (Jeff), Maggie Willoughby (Jared), Will Crotti, Melissa Crotti, Sarah Crotti, Hannah Linsk and Madeleine Linsk.
William was the Hershey's Mill Sports Group Bocce Champion for 3 years along with his partner, Jon Ford. He was an Eagles, Phillies, Pirates and Steelers fan and enjoyed gardening, walking and spending time with his granddaughter. He was a 1976 graduate of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was employed as a social services caseworker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, East Goshen, where he served as a member of the Building and Grounds Committee.
Services and interment are private.
