William Turpin Fowler, Sr.

William “Bill” Turpin Fowler, Sr., 76, of East Fallowfield Township, PA, passed away September 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born December 5, 1947 in West Chester, PA, he was a son of the late Austin B. and Doris M. (nee Turpin) Fowler.

Bill was a 1967 graduate of Downingtown Senior High School. His career spanned several industries including being self-employed in his younger years at the store and deli in Marshalton. He worked for Autocar, Armstrong Co., Bennett Trailer Co, owned and operated multiple deli’s, and Realan Homes. He went on to work for the Downingtown Area School District until his retirement in 2019.

He selflessly volunteered at West Bradford Fire Co. for many years before serving as President from 1973-1974, then chief in 1977.

His hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors and included carpentry, hunting, Nascar, camping with his family, traveling and being a car enthusiast. These activities not only brought joy to Bill but also those who had the pleasure of joining him.

Bill was the beloved husband of Sandra (nee Terry) Fowler; loving father of William T. Fowler, Jr. (Denise), Brian K. Fowler (Jennifer), and Kerrie Anne Kentzel (Todd); adoring grandfather of William T. Fowler, III (Felicity Nelson), Erin A. Fowler, Blake A. Fowler, Wyatt R. Fowler, Kyle S. Kentzel, Conner S. Kentzel, Kaylee N. Kentzel, and Ethan S. Kentzel; and proud great-grandfather of Hunter Fowler and Liam Fowler and man’s best friend, Kate. He was predeceased by his siblings: Austin B. Fowler, Jr., Russel Fowler, and Janet Gallagher.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Thursday, October 3, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Interment at Bradford Cemetery.
