William Layden, Sr.

William A. Layden, Sr., "Gimp", age 77, of the Cardington section of Upper Darby, passed away at his residence on January 9, 2016.
Born in Upper Darby to the late Thomas and Helen (nee Dougherty) Layden, Bill worked for PECO Energy and after his retirement he worked as a Bus Driver for the Upper Darby School District. He was a life member of Cardington-Stonehurst Fire Company.
Bill was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Anna M. (nee Jackson), his son Francis J. Layden and his 4 siblings. He is survived by his loving children Donna M. Garraway (David) and William A. Layden, Jr. (Donna) and his grandchildren Jenna, Billy, Colin and Abby.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday evening 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 to 9:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Mass Saturday 10:00 AM at St. Cyril Church, 153 Penn Blvd., East Lansdowne, PA. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory to The Cardington-Stonehurst Fire Company, 350 Harrison Ave., Upper Darby, PA 19082 would be appreciated.
