William C. "Bill" Martin, age 85, of Havertown, PA, passed away on October 25, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy Martin (nee Crawshaw).
Bill served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS Sicily. He was employed as an Air Traffic Controller for Boeing.
Bill enjoyed reading, his wife's cooking and baking, his family, grandchildren and his pets. He was a longtime member of Annunciation BVM Church and a member of the Msgr. Bonner Father and Sons Association.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Helen M. Martin (nee McHugh), his loving children Bill Martin, Jacqueline Steen and her husband, Eric, and Kathleen Casadonti and her husband Chris, his grandchildren Eric, Amanda, Kelly, Danielle, Nicholas, and Madeline, his siblings Dolly Rooney and her husband, Jim, and Joseph Martin and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Maryjane Alverson.
Relatives and friends are invited his viewing Saturday, October 29, 2016 9:30-10:50 AM Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory to the Sanctuary Guild of Annunciation BVM Church at the above address would be appreciated.
