William M. Murphy, age 60, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on January 18, 2019.
Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas Robert and Henrietta (nee McLaughlin) Murphy.
William taught 2 years at Beverly Hills Middle School.
He then went on to teach Woodshop and Technology for 23 years at Marple-Newtown High School.
He will be deeply missed by his students, both past and present.
William was an avid sports fan, who especially enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
He previously coached the Marple-Newtown High School Freshman Football Team as well as being involved with the Marple-Newtown stage crew.
He never missed a sports activity for his son, Jim, as well as attending local sporting events.
William was the beloved husband of Janine M. (nee Calabro) Murphy; the loving father of James Patrick Murphy; the dear brother of Thomas J. Murphy (Kathleen Haas Murphy), Monica Murphy Charlton (Myles), Jeannette A. Murphy Neville (Philip) and sister-in-law, Maggie Murphy-Jones.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Michael Calabro (Donna); as well as his many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
William was predeceased by his brother, James A. Murphy.
