William Byron Phares, Jr., 82, of West Brandywine, formerly of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, passed away February 11, 2019.
Born June 18, 1936 in Washington D.C., he was a son of the late William Byron and Frances (nee Fraley) Phares.
Bill attended George Washington University and worked as an estimator for William A. Hazel Inc. for over 25 years.
He was the beloved husband of Joy Lynn Phares; loving father of Tamra Lynn Bramwell (Doug), and Megan Shannon (Tim); and adoring grandfather of Katelin Rowley, Kelcie Rowley, Emma Shannon, and Kevin Shannon. He was predeceased by his brother, Edwin Phares.
Bill and Joy were married for 63 years, and spent a majority of that time in Fairfax, Virginia. Their love of the beach took them to retirement in Pawleys Island in 2000.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on February 17, 2019 at Christ Community Church, 1190 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brookdale Hospice, 995 Old Eagle School Rd Ste 315, Wayne, PA 19087. Please note In Memory of William Phares in the memo line.
