William E. Webb Sr, of Delaware City, DE, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born April 27, 1945 in Wilmington, DE to Carl and Gertrude (Moorhouse) Webb, he was raised with his 5 older siblings in Pedricktown, NJ. He graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School in 1963 and worked as an electrician at E.I. DuPont eventually becoming an independent electrician contractor, earning his degree in Electrical Technology from Salem Community College in 1970. He retired as a supervisor from the Newport DE General Motors plant in 2009 after 25 years. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1969 through 1974. Throughout his life, Bill's love of nature was at the forefront and he shared this with his children and grandchildren. An avid fisherman and ‘crabber' many a weekend was spent on the water where he could also enjoy some birdwatching, another favorite past time. If not on the water, you could find him watching football, the Eagles and Steelers particular favorites. Recently, he had become more involved in following college football too as he adopted the teams of the colleges that several grandchildren are attending. Always willing to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbors, his generous spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Bill/Dad/Pop Pop is survived by his children: Cheryl (Alfred) Ferraioli, Laura (Lawson ‘Trey') Shelton and Will Webb Jr and his grandchildren: Erika, Abigail and Madelyn Ferraioli; Blaze and Willie Webb; and Mackenzie and Evelyn Shelton and his dog, Cody. He is also survived by his siblings: Amy Peachey, Doris Doughton and Millard Webb, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends and Family are invited to his Greeting on Saturday December 22, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hudson United Methodist Church, 29 N. Railroad Ave, Pedricktown, NJ 08067, followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Internment Hudson United Methodist Cemetery, Pedricktown, NJ.
