Charles Schilling

Charles Thomas Schilling "Chuck", 83, of West Chester, PA, formerly of NY, passed away March 30, 2021.

Born October 25, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Charles Patrick and Theresa (nee Goetz) Schilling.

Chuck attended St. Mary's High School and Manhattan College. He began his career playing professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox from 1961 - 1965, then on to engineering work and as a finale taught middle school math for over 20 years at Middle Country Central School District, NY.

He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, and crossword puzzles. He was a member of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, Malvern.

Charles was the beloved husband of Katherine (nee Klapproth) Schilling; loving father of Karla Tobin (Vincent), Kristen Rate (Edwin), Charles C. Schilling, Thomas Schilling (Jill), Richard K. Corcoran (Sibyl), and Claire Daramola (Adeyemi); adoring grandfather of 15 grandchildren; and dear brother of Robert Schilling and Virginia DiSpaltro.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 6 PM to 9 PM Wednesday April 7, 2021 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, and to his Mass 10 AM Thursday at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 689 Sugartown Rd, Malvern, PA 19355 with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
