Kathleen Mulhearn

Kathleen T. “Kathy” Mulhearn (nee Rodrian), age 79, of Havertown, PA, passed away on August 19, 2020.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Kathleen “Kitty” Rodrian (nee Schmitt).

Kathleen was a Registered Nurse and had been employed at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital. Later she was the Program Coordinator at Haverford Township Free Library.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband, Richard M. Mulhearn, her loving children Bill Mulhearn, Rich Mulhearn and Kathleen Mulhearn (Rich Laverty) and her granddaughter, Alison Laverty. She was admired for her cooking, gardening, entertaining and welcoming personality. But most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Wednesday, August 26, 2020 11:30 AM-12:30 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to her Funeral Service at 12:30 PM.   Interment will be private.

COVID 19 visitation restrictions made this time much more difficult. Of the 62 days Kathy was in the hospital/rehab her family was allowed to visit only three of those days. Traveling for care would be even more difficult. Therefore, donations are being accepted in her name to Hosts for Hospitals, a local nonprofit that offers lodging at volunteer homes to families and patients coming to the area for specialized medical needs. During Covid-19, patients with critical medical situations are still traveling to town for non-elective care: Families with sick children, adult and pediatric oncology patients, and pregnant moms with medical complications are among those who do not have a lodging option.    https://hostsforhospitals.org/donate/.

Due to the CDC Guidelines and the State of Pennsylvania, masks are to be worn for visitation and the Funeral Service and social distancing is to be observed.
