Kevin M. McKee, 61, of Thornton, PA, passed away suddenly June 27, 2021.
Born June 21, 1960 in Darby, PA, he was a son of the late Alexander B. and Priscilla C. (nee Keefrider) McKee.
Kevin attended Cardinal O’Hara High School and graduated with the class of 1978. He went on to graduate from Pennsylvania State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Throughout high school he was a successful varsity swimmer, and went on the pursue that love of swimming as a scholar athlete at Penn State. Kevin spent most of his career as a successful financial estate planner.
Kevin was most at home when he was outdoors. The life of any party, he was never one to shy away from the limelight. He loved to hike, bike ride, swim, run, and ride waves. He was an avid golfer and a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Most important of all, he was a family man. Soon after school, he married his college sweetheart Dana, who he loved deeply for the last 35 years. His wife and children were his world, and he cherished time well spent with the people that he loved the most. His newest role as Pop Pop to his grandson, Carter, was a role that he relished. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and his free spirit, humble demeanor, caring soul, and a zest for life will be deeply missed.
Kevin was the beloved husband of Dana A. McKee (nee Humes). Loving father of Shane A. McKee and Courtney J. Eister (Steven); adoring grandfather of Carter J. Eister; dear brother of Mark McKee (Edee), Tim McKee (Courtney), Chris McKee (Teri), Maggie O’Neill (Joe), Maureen M. Hobson (James), and Karen Myers (Jim). Kevin was predeceased by his sisters Mary Martin (Jarell) and Helen O’Neill (Todd). Kevin was also the caring brother-in-law of Dave Humes (Gail), Doug Humes (Barb), and Kimberly Ashbach (Charles); and cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at King’s Mill, 6000 Pennell Road, Media PA. The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, and a Memorial Service 10:30 to 11:30 AM. A luncheon celebrating Kevin's life will immediately follow.
